How long are the sessions?
Each one-on-one session is 60 minutes long for the initial evaluation and 50 minutes long for the follow up sessions. Please come 5 to 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment to ensure your session starts on time and minimize impact to other patients. If you are running more than 5-10 minutes late, please call to let us know.
How should I dress for the session?
Wear comfortable clothing, such as loose shorts that have an adjustable waistband with either a tank top for women or a t-shirt for men. The attire must allow easy access to the area that needs attention. Avoid sports bras and bring or wear a pair of socks.
How much do sessions cost?
The Initial evaluation is $255, and follow-up visits are $224. Payment is due at the time of service (Cash, Check, Visa and Mastercard accepted). You will be responsible for any interest or attorney fees incurred for collection of unpaid balances.
Do we participate with insurance?
Masset AC & PT Center does not participate with insurance plans, nor is it enrolled in the Medicare program. We will provide you with an itemized receipt (superbill) that has the necessary information for you to file an out-of-network claim with your insurance company. Be advised that some health plans may require pre-certification, prescriptions and/or referrals for reimbursement of physical therapy and acupuncture services. There may also be other plan restrictions and/or visit limits. Receipts and documentation provided by Masset AC & PT are not a guarantee of coverage. It is your responsibility to know and meet the requirements of your insurance plan.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Appointments are scheduled directly with Michèle Masset by calling 202.429.0007 or emailing care@ michmasset.com. For each session, 2 emailed reminders are sent. The first is sent one week prior to your appointment. Please respond to confirm. The second reminder is generated by our practice management program and includes the date and the time of your appointment. This reminder does not require a response if you have previously confirmed your appointment. If you have a busy schedule and require specific times, it is advised that you book your appointments 2 – 3 weeks in advance.
What is the cancelation policy?
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours (one business day), not including weekends, prior to the scheduled appointment. Any cancelled or missed appointments with less than 24 hours notice will incur a cancellation fee equal to the cost of the session. This fee is due upon the next visit or no later than 30 days from the time of the original appointment and cannot be billed to insurance.
Do I need a referral and a prescription?
The District of Columbia does not require a physician’s referral or prescription for physical therapy or acupuncture care. Regardless of this D.C. requirement, some insurance companies will require a physician’s referral or prescription to process your claim. It is recommended that you check with your health insurance provider regarding their referral policy. If a prescription is required, you are responsible for keeping it current.
What is our medical record or legal fee?
A fee of $100 will be charged to send requested documents for legal purposes.
